Gran Torino While it was an undeniable hoot to hear ol' Clint barking out mean-spirited and flat-out racist dialogue to everyone around him, I just thought the script (shot from a first draft, as is Clint's custom) could have really used more work... it just felt like a guy watched Boyz in the Hood, Menace II Society, 187, and South Central and decided to give his gang characters the same depth, right down to the same kinds of spoken dialogue (ie, "What up, cuz? Yo, I'ma smoke this ol' fool, for real, dawg"... wtf... I was waiting for Ice Cube and Larenz Tate to show up)... anywho, as I said, Clint himself brought the heat and was entertaining, and story-wise, despite what the commercials may suggest, there is a level of realism involved when he deals with these gangs... but the mediocre and cliched script is just too much for Clint's giddily grumpy performance -- and ultimately, the film -- to overcome... fb520016656 Dec 4, 2008
Twilight muy buena pelicula..aunque la vi antes de leer el libro, jejeje...pero ya me lo comprarre y lo leere fb692467666 Dec 4, 2008
Australia Visually stunning and well acted, but the pacing was very uneven and the plot too fragmented for my liking. fb745524765 Dec 4, 2008
Milk best movie i've seen in years and sean penn was incredible. made me interested in finding out even more about harvey milk and unfortunately incredibly relevant right now. fb605082959 Dec 4, 2008
Australia wow powerful, epic the kind of movie Oscar loves should get 7-8 nominations including best picture. my favourite so far to take the Best picture Oscar. derekstar23 Dec 4, 2008
Four Christmases pretty funny movie a little predictable, but Vince Vaughn is always hilarious and does it again here. derekstar23 Dec 4, 2008
Australia Not as good as Baz Luhrman's Red Curtain Trilogy, but the acting, scenery, and overall dialogue were fantastic. Some recycled themes from Baz's past films and not nearly up to par on the music, but this epic was definitely worth seeing and especially on the big screen. fb644780410 Dec 4, 2008
Four Christmases The way this moive tells the couple's relationship was very realistic, but the fun from the four families visits was lame. fb518630162 Dec 4, 2008
Twilight it wuz a good movie..... but there were somethings in the book, that didn't line up with the movie....but....isn't that how it always is? fb697851823 Nov 20, 2008
Four Christmases Complete dreck. Vince Vaughn is awful and Reese Witherspoon is even worse. Bad acting and bad script, just a rotten Christmas movie. gloomyrival Dec 4, 2008
Four Christmases I thought it was a pretty good movie. Not so much of Christmas movie. It was more of a story abotu family and baby that happens during 1 christmas. This movie is for the couples who doesnt want to get married or have babies, it possibly can change their mind. Also not much comedy in it, all the funny parts were shown on the promo. Reese Witherspoon has always been one of my favorite actress and she has done a great job. Vince Vaughn is funny and his face expressions and dialouge deliveries were great. Other casts are just ok. Great date movie. fb1064483829 Dec 4, 2008
Bolt This was just as the previews promised...a funny and wholesome family move. Definitely had me laughing with some memorable quotes and moments. fb516405386 Dec 4, 2008
Four Christmases If you want a really great Christmas film, then go see something else, it can be funny in parts, but it was mostly annoying. The idea being that a couple can stay together as long as they dont meet the families, So Kate and Brad have the perfect Christmas plans, a holiday in Fiji while they tell the families they are doing charity work abroad, this plan has worked for years and they are happy, until a fogged in airport is broadcast on the news with Kate and Brad being interviewed, suddenly they have to visit everyone for Christmas, his mam, her dad, her mam and his dad,( im not even sure if its all in the same day), they face issues from their childhoods, cope with annoying family members, star in a really annoying nativity, destroy a house, discover one was fat and one was a wimp, decide they dont know each other at all, break up... blah blah blah, asleep yet? cos I was for a bit oops! Ending you can see coming! and too much baby puke urgh! fb611176302 Dec 4, 2008
Bolt Solid Film. Nothing groundbreaking, but some funny and sad parts just like everything else Disney does. Good looking also, will look great in HD. fb82400128 Dec 4, 2008
Twilight The movie is soo much better than the book. It was pretty obvious that Twilight was Meyer's first novel the entire time I was reading it. The screenwriters of the movie did a great job of cleaning it up for the big screen...even if some of the acting was overly dramatic. Who cares - the guys were hot and so was the music! GO SEE IT! fb20404837 Nov 17, 2008
Twilight it´s not perfect but perfection is boring .. I love it! And I don´t care what the obsessive readers say or what say the film critics .. just sit down and enjoy it! And!!! I am happy Robert Pattinson did Edward! His acting was amazing! fb1262901771 Nov 19, 2008
Twilight I really enjoyed this movie. However I would recommend that you read the first book of the series "Twilight" first. I think if you have you will enjoy it more b/c the movie makes a lot of assumptions about the audience knowing the relationship between Edward and Bella. **SPOILERS** The movie seemed a little choppy with the story line to me. It took out some of different sections of the book causing the friendship/relationship to suddenly appear from nowhere. Also, Edward was too "human" for me. His conflict with Bella comes off as a boy who just can't make up his mind...rather than immortal vampire. Although I loved the movie...I'm not sure others with no previous history will like it. fb516405386 Nov 3, 2008
Twilight Slow to begin with and some odd acting from pattinson but it got into the swing of it and became excellent!!!! As good as the book. fb506771861 Dec 4, 2008
Twilight ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!! im almost done with the book and i have 2 c the movie!!! the book is soooo addicting that i cant put it down. im sure the movie will be the same!!! i cant wait!!!!! raine211 Oct 25, 2008
Four Christmases it was over the top and exaggerated a bit, but it was hilarious. Vince Vaughn is the King of Sarcasm!...this will be the next great made for t.v. movie(theyll keep replaying it for 10 years or so). fb19500689 Dec 4, 2008
Twilight Like a staring contest between the two poorly chosen, wooden leads. Only you have to throw in incredibly awkward dialogue and "sexual" tension (Pfft yeah right), and extreme close-ups. What could be better than that?! Celestecookies Dec 4, 2008
Twilight it's wonderful for many reasons, but not because it moves the relationship to rapidly and I have to wait forever for the next movie. fb815630133 Jul 20, 2008
Four Christmases It wasnt my idea to go see this, but I was surprised at how funny it was. I thought it would be alot of mushy romantic comedy stuff, but I was in the theatre laughing pretty hard. Vince Vaughn is the man as usual. fb686177992 Dec 4, 2008
Australia This is the type of movie I go to theaters for. It was a beautiful mix of multiple genres, the images popped from the screen, the characters are still with me after the movie ended, and I will be most assured to see the movie many more times. The shots of landscapes--a type of shot that normally bores me to tears--had me riveted. While there was a weak transition between the first and second half of the movie, this was a tight, well-planned movie. Yes, it is long. However, unlike the myriad of epic movies I've seen, it didn't feel like storylines were added to make the movie longer than it needed to be: it felt exactly as long as it needed to be. Beautiful, mesmerizing. thegiffy Dec 4, 2008
Bolt Charming, cute and funny. Great in 3-D and has a magic to it that a lot of non Pixar Disney movies have lacked of late. Highly entertaining. mdc3000 Dec 4, 2008
Bolt I thought it was very cute... I've seen better Disney movies than this, but had a fun and humorous story line. If anyone watched "Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers" as a kid then you might have seen that the whole super hero dog that gets lost was one episode's storyline. It did feel like Finding Nemo in that a character gets lost and Toy Story because of the "will she still love me" storyline. However, the voice talents are well done. Nick Swardson is hilarious as the one "evil" cat. fb30308021 Aug 6, 2008
Twilight Catherine Hardwicke single handedly tries to ruin everything about this movie with horrible directorial choices, odd camera angles/movement and a dull colour palate. The story is fine enough and despite feeling like a total B movie throughout, the leads have enough charisma to draw you into the story. The supporting cast is decent and there seems to be some interesting characters there. Not a lot happens in the flick but it was mildly better than I had thought but I have no doubt if this had been directed by someone else, it would have been something special and worthy of the hype. mdc3000 Dec 4, 2008
Australia It's not the WORST pic I've ever seen at the movie house (because I DID pay money to see "54"), but it comes close. In fact, it makes "Quantum of Solace" look like a comprehensible delight. But enough of that. What's wrong with "Australia" is manifold. You could choose to blame the hubris of its helmer, Mr. Luhrmann, who not only has the audacity to name a foolish story of an effing CATTLE DRIVE after an entire CONTINENT...but attempts to use, as its musical motif, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", a tune so desperately linked to its source material as to generate giggles every time the wee aborigine twonks it out on his harmonica. You might even get away with lambasting its dunderheaded script which, in leaps and bounds, forsakes dramatic impetus to focus on beautiful people doing beautiful things in beautiful slow motion. (Two missed opportunities for suspense sequences--the croc and the capture--are heinously squinched into voiced-over montages...allowing more room for Jackman to squint through the dust and Kidman to gip and gurk at his amazing pectorals.) I threw up on my lap when I saw that this twaddle was actually penned by FOUR people. Who was the guy that clapped and slavered on himself when the other three suggested more kissing? I want HIS paycheque. And I wouldn't fault you for finding contention with an unfortunate misuse of the continent in question. Instead of utilizing the glory of Australia's countryside, it appears the bulk of the "outdoor" action takes place against green screens. Horrifying. And an embarrassment for all involved. (As a quick addendum: if you wanna hear some REAL vitriol, ask Shamu what he thought of this pic. Then stand back.) fb804690612 Dec 4, 2008
Transporter 3 Statham ruled as always......good action! T-Bag(Knepper his name?) was fun to watch, same demeanor-different role... fb524441212 Dec 4, 2008
Australia I loved this movie! Hugh Jackman was great, I wasn't such a huge fan of Nicole Kidman, but it still worked. The right balance of action and suspense and romance. The middle was perhaps a bit long, but otherwise the time flew by. Australia is beautiful! I will definitely be seeing it again! fb74603645 Dec 4, 2008
Australia Most people I've heard from bashed this movie but I actually liked it. Some parts are slow moving but other then that the movie is good. Hugh Jackman is great in it. KerrieEddy1 Dec 4, 2008
Transporter 3 I didnt like the movie as much as i did the first 2. This one i felt it was corny and not well directed. Ofcourse the Action sequences are great. I love the fight he does with his coat. The dialouges were not creative. Jason seems like he wasnt interested in this film as much as he was. They could have gone with better looking and well acted girl. Over all it was ok to me. fb1064483829 Dec 4, 2008
Twilight i am in love with all things twilight!!! it is my favorite series and i am dieing to see this movie! promisemethatyou39ll May 14, 2008
Bolt Don't expect anything new or exciting from this solid Disney flick. It was fun, engaging, humorous. I was entertained from beginning to end, mostly because of the hamster. Oh, did I love that hamster. I also couldn't stop thinking throughout the whole movie--mostly about the hamster. The hamster is this great character who almost made me wish I had a forum to write about him as I would have for a film class. Entertaining, but completely unsurprising. thegiffy Dec 4, 2008
Twilight Like most people, I was disappointed because of how far away from the book it strayed. I understand they had to bunch things together because of the length of the movie & change it for whatever reasons. I liked it, nonetheless. fb767968256 Nov 17, 2008
Transporter 3 I've been struggling to find the right words to describe this movie experience, but I can't seem to pinpoint the precise person to blame for the films poor exhibition. I'd like to say the writing was not perfect, but that's not entirely true; because while certain scenes appear poorly scripted, certain characters and scenarios seem fairly well sculpted. I could also try blaming the director, but, again, the same 50-50 trade-off between kool and boring looms throughout the film. Maybe it was the editors fault? I couldn't blame the editor if half of the crappy scenes were the directors fault, he can only work with what he has (on the other hand...). Perhaps the actors than? This could very well be true, the characters did seem "out of character" at times, but this could easily be attributed to either the director or either of the writers. As I said, there is no one person (that I've determined) to blame for this half-boring, half-cool movie. Along with this in-depth explanation, I really can't comment on anything else about this film. Twilight If there were more than 5 stars...i would give it. This movie is something i would watch a million times and not be bored. First, it is a very faithful adaptation of the book (even though some vital parts are left out). Second (most importantly) the actor is too hot to handle. lol. but i still think edward in the book is better. The soundtrack is awesome too... fb501402809 Dec 4, 2008
Twilight I went in with some seriously low expectations, but I ended up liking the film. The special effects were incredibly disappointing, and I actually laughed out loud at a few parts. Other than that, I thought it was a good flick. fb1378363969 Dec 4, 2008
Twilight I Loved it! Robert Pattinson did such a good jo talking is his newly learned American accent, and he is sooo adorable! Amelia232770164 Dec 4, 2008
Australia Glorious and a mess all at the same time. Crikey, Baz, did you have to tell every Australian story in the same movie! fb1260430542 May 12, 2008
Twilight It´s an OK movie i mean i knew the story knew what was going on but i kinda felt it was moving slow... i found it Ok... isvalaboyhehe Dec 4, 2008
Twilight I loved this movie it stayed true to the book...for the most part some stuff that was changed was good! Robert Pattinson...cutie! was brilliant and can sing! Kristen was AMAZING!!!! loved her portrayal of Bella thought she was PERFECT!!!! Jacob didn't don anything for me mostly because i'm on team edward :) lol ok i loved it so much i saw it twice and bought the soundtrack i can't remember when the last time i bought a soundtrack to a movie was....oh wait transformers :) KrisTurner29543208 Dec 1, 2008
Twilight omg! i LOVED this movie...i can't wait to read the books and see the next one when/if it comes out!!! jkellog6 Dec 4, 2008
Twilight VERY good movie!!!!!!!!!! I'm a vampire nut and this sold it for me! A true love everyone should reach for! fb670211618 Nov 15, 2008
Twilight Well, I didn't read the book but I thought it was a really good movie! I think they chose the characters well except for Bella because she was very emotionless... Cant wait for the next one Hopefully I'll read the books by then =P fb509090983 Dec 4, 2008
Australia A true epic movie with a good balance of action, romance, tragedy and comedy. Brilliant comedy performance of Kidman as British lady. fb721986395 Dec 4, 2008
Twilight Ok some of the acting was pretty bad, and the graphics pretty cheesy, but looking at the preview you knew that was coming. Not really an excuse but... Anyways my beef with it was that it didn't focus enough on developing the relationships between the characters and spent more of the movie on the James story which granted, yes, was a big part of the book but not the biggest. I feel like if you hadn't read the books before hand you wouldn't have understood what the big deal with the characters was and why there's such a massive following of it. Not an overly bad movie, but it underrated what it could have been. fb187904864 Dec 4, 2008
Transporter 3 The good news: I got to see this for free. The bad news: an hour and half gone from my life. Ok, it wasn't that bad, but think twice before you actually pay to see this. At least the sassy freckled Ukranian girl was cute fb802924868 Dec 4, 2008
Four Christmases Really funny, but there was something of an imbalance when it came to the two families. His were WAY worse than hers. Bit predictable, but still plenty of laughs. fb666975280 Dec 4, 2008
